True Colors

We enjoyed such an adventurous stroll through a lovely little forest preserve near our home this past weekend. The sun was shining brightly and the sky was so blue and cloudless that we knew it would be a shame to stay inside. So, we bundled up our little family and headed to the nearest falling leaves for a fun exploration of colors, sites and sounds.

As always, we took lots of photos of the adventure on this day. Some of them seem so blogworthy, that I had to share. So please sit back and enjoy a few moments of Fall joy compliments of our non-chaos day.

    Beautiful photos. I wish we had changing colors here. The best we tend to get is yellow. No orange, no red. Green to yellow to brown to just plain dead! lol

    Not until moving away did I learn that 'forest preserves" are a pretty regional thing. So enjoy them!

Have you ever heard of a Smash Book? If you are a scrapbooker or art journal person, you may have. If you are not one of those types, you may not have. I am a scrapbooker . . . but had no idea what a Smash Book was. That is, until my dear friend Peggy brought hers to our Scrapbook Cellar gathering last month. Any day now . . . Any day now . . . we will see you in all your glory, and the memory of past Springs will become our reality once again.  Any day now . . . I will walk passed you and be reminded of that scene in "Willie Wonka" . . . Gene Wilder as "Willie Wonka" image obtained from Google Image Search. Original site unknown. . . . when Gene Wilder drinks something (that I like to imagine is the sweetest, butteriest, most amazing thing) from a buttercup, and I'll wish just once I could do the same with you. Any day now . . . I will turn the corner of our block and find you waiting for me with your petals wide open, as if wanting to give me a Spring hug, and your scent will make me feel as if the heavens have opened up and sprinkled sweet smells over us all. Hot Off The Presses! A fanTAStic Weekend Treat!

Howdy Friends!!! Hope this post finds you all doing well! As part of my blog series "100 Things to Do with Grapes"  (STOP - wait a minute .... are you kidding me???
