Thankful & Grateful Moments

Image
I am so very blessed for this life I am living. For this sometimes stressful, sometimes frustrating, sometimes exhausting, sometimes aggravating, but 100% blessed life. Because even when the going gets tough . . . and yep, sometimes it does get tough . . . I still know how damn great I've got it. And this year, I am trying to do it as often as possible - trying to take those moments, the Thankful and Grateful Moments, and soak them up. Because I have many of them. Tonight, I am sitting at my computer looking through the photo from a recent trip we took to this January to Puerto Rico. I decided to get back to good ol'fashioned scrapbooking and want to start with this vacation, and sitting here looking at these photos - I am feeling my heart swell with gratitude for this trip. I would love to share a little bit of it with you. Like, this view . . . right here . . . Sometimes you see something and you think, "this can't be real" - almost like there ...

Here They Come!!

Image
Do you know that here they come! scene in "It's a Wonderful Life"? Right after George and Mary are married, the camera shot is a close up of Cousin Tilly as she shouts, "Here they come! Here they come!", and the new Mr. & Mrs. George Bailey head down the stairs in complete and total joy over their recent union. Oh, there is excitement and joy in the air, and life is oh-so-good at that very moment! I feel like Cousin Tilly, except I am at the top of the stairs leading to our basement . . . announcing that I have completed the moving of furniture and organizing of a room that has become . . . well, quite frankly, a mess. Here They Come!!! friends, Here They Come!! The photos from of my studio space . . . . ah, I'm so glad to be on this side of the project. Finally. The challenge? To take our basement and somehow, someway, turn it into a place that was not only my art studio, but a space where Phil Guy (my dearest husband) could close the ...

Up . . . Up . . . and Away!

I wanted to do something special this year to mark the end of the summer and to christen the beginning of a new school year.  A celebration, of sorts, that all of us in the family could take part in. So, I decided we'd have a ceremony . . . a little presentation . . . to talk about our wishes for the coming school year, and then end it with a special lighting ceremony (yes, I must be going through some sort of withdrawal from the pomp and circumstance of the Olympics.) We started by each of us making "wish" pages that could hold our individual wishes for the new school year. From "making new friends" to "focusing more", each of us had something that we wanted to wish for in the months ahead. While the concept was a little hard for Ella to get, she still came up with "I want to learn more math" and "I want to make friends". I was pretty proud of her! They did a great job with their school year wish lists. We then ga...

96 Hours of the Good Life

What a wonderful weekend we've had here in our Chaos home! Laughs, hugs, museums, snow, bowling, Starbucks, birthdays and more. My dearest sister-in-law, brother-in-law and nephew were in town (all the way from New York) and we've been going going going since their arrival.  Here are just a few of the highlights of life the past few days . . . It started with that beautiful snow I told you about on Thursday . . . and oh-boy . . . I loved it. Dear PG had to dust off the snow blower for the first time this season. Note to self . . . MUST buy a pair of boots!  Ella and Katie got to see exactly what it would be like to have a younger sibling. Katie loved it!  As for Ella . . . the verdict is still out.   We took a great trip to the Museum of Science and Industry . Here is Carlo with his Babbo. I adore my brother-in-law . . . he is a wonderful man and an amazing father.   Lots of f...
