We're Back!

Yes . . . we are. And I feel . . . amazing.

Rested. Peaceful. Calm. Relaxed. Renewed. Did I mention . . . calm?

Yes, I feel calm. We've been back for two days, and I STILL feel calm.

I guess having views like this may have helped . . .

And seeing my daughter like this might have helped, too . . .

But then again, it may have been spending hours right here that really helped . . .

Oh, and maybe it was enjoying a ride like this that helped, too . . .

I have so much to share with you from our recent get-away to Puerto Rico! (YES!! We went to Puerto Rico . . . and it was honestly the very best vacation we have ever had. Really. THE BEST.) I'll be back soon sharing more photos and stories. Just wanted to leave a quick note right now.

Today, I'm off to purchase a new scrapbook to record all of our memories and photos of this trip in, and then . . . time to do the laundry!

I am feeling so peaceful, my friends. This is JUST what I needed.

    Oh WOW!! What a WONDERFUL mid-winter treat!! I was wondering where you were off to. These photos are amazing. Looked like Hawaii for a minute...wasn't sure:)

Have you ever heard of a Smash Book? If you are a scrapbooker or art journal person, you may have. If you are not one of those types, you may not have. I am a scrapbooker . . . but had no idea what a Smash Book was. That is, until my dear friend Peggy brought hers to our Scrapbook Cellar gathering last month. She introduced us all to her cool little composition journal, and the conversation went something like this: PK :  Here is my Smash book. Me : Your what? PK : My Smash Book. Me : Like, smash, what? PK : Smash . . . things. You know. Like, stuff. Me : What? PK : See . . . I will put stuff in here. Junk. Things I don't want to lose, but don't know what to do with. Me : Huh? PK : Smash. Any day now . . . Any day now . . . we will see you in all your glory, and the memory of past Springs will become our reality once again.  Any day now . . . I will walk passed you and be reminded of that scene in "Willie Wonka" . . . Gene Wilder as "Willie Wonka" image obtained from Google Image Search. Original site unknown. . . . when Gene Wilder drinks something (that I like to imagine is the sweetest, butteriest, most amazing thing) from a buttercup, and I'll wish just once I could do the same with you. Any day now . . . I will turn the corner of our block and find you waiting for me with your petals wide open, as if wanting to give me a Spring hug, and your scent will make me feel as if the heavens have opened up and sprinkled sweet smells over us all. Hot Off The Presses! A fanTAStic Weekend Treat!

Howdy Friends!!! Hope this post finds you all doing well! As part of my blog series "100 Things to Do with Grapes"  (STOP - wait a minute .... are you kidding me??? I don't have a blog series about grapes!!! Oh - but just imagine if I did!!!), I just had to share with you one of my very all time favorite summer treats . . .  Ok, are you even slightly interested? Hang in there with me, ok? Because this easy, summer "yum" is bound to be a favorite of YOURS!!!! That is . . . unless you have a peanut allergy. If you have a peanut allergy, I would STRONGLY ADVISE AGAINST making this treat. (Come back Monday for another more appropriate post for you.)
