The Colors of my World

I've been looking at so many parts of my every day life with a different eye this week, paying special attention to the colors and textures that surround the many moments of my day, and grabbing the camera to catch these moments exactly as they are.

Tonight, I played around in photoshop with a particular picture I took over the weekend. I tried a number of different filters on the photo - from "stained glass" to "fresco" and everything in between. I really have to play around in photoshop some more - what an amazing program.

I decided on "Palette Knife" . . . I love the colors . . . I like how they make me feel. Bright. Cheery. Happy. With a bit of mystery . . . I think that's a perfect description of myself. Oooooo, I sound so 'Bond, James Bond - 007', don't I? Ok, maybe not. But I do love this picture . . .

Every time I put away our laundry, my world looks like this . . . 


And Monday night, I stopped right there in my bedroom and looked at all the colors of the clothing in my life. Well, for the record - the martini print pajama bottoms in the top right corner of this picture are mine, and all the rest belongs to either Katie or Ella. I love how colorful little girls clothes are.

And I love this view of my life right now, both the reality of the piles of laundry photo, and the colorful yet mysterious photo up above.

Yes, Life is Good.

    Have you ever grouped clothes in your closet by color? Occasionally I do and then I realize what colors I gravitate towards.

Have you ever heard of a Smash Book? If you are a scrapbooker or art journal person, you may have. If you are not one of those types, you may not have. I am a scrapbooker . . . but had no idea what a Smash Book was. That is, until my dear friend Peggy brought hers to our Scrapbook Cellar gathering last month. Any day now . . . Any day now . . . we will see you in all your glory, and the memory of past Springs will become our reality once again.  Any day now . . . I will walk passed you and be reminded of that scene in "Willie Wonka" . . . Gene Wilder as "Willie Wonka" image obtained from Google Image Search. Original site unknown. . . . when Gene Wilder drinks something (that I like to imagine is the sweetest, butteriest, most amazing thing) from a buttercup, and I'll wish just once I could do the same with you. Any day now . . . I will turn the corner of our block and find you waiting for me with your petals wide open, as if wanting to give me a Spring hug, and your scent will make me feel as if the heavens have opened up and sprinkled sweet smells over us all. Hot Off The Presses! A fanTAStic Weekend Treat!

Howdy Friends!!! Hope this post finds you all doing well! As part of my blog series "100 Things to Do with Grapes"  (STOP - wait a minute .... are you kidding me??? I don't have a blog series about grapes!!! Oh - but just imagine if I did!!!), I just had to share with you one of my very all time favorite summer treats . . .  Ok, are you even slightly interested?
