An Apple A Day . . . or in this case, a bushel

Greetings from this chaos girl and her Apple Clan . . . whose adventure today took us on a lovely drive in the country to do some shopping, apple eating, apple buying, and fall weather lovin' in Speer, Illinois. You didn't know there was a Speer, Illinois? Neither did I. But today, after 2 hours in the car enjoying the fall colors, we ended up at the coolest Apple Orchard. Tanner's Apple Orchard, that is.

This awesome Cider Barrel ride took the girls through the orchard . . . they LOVED it!

Oh, and did I mention . . . there were APPLES! We bought Gala and Johnagold . . . Yummmm!!!

    WONDERFUL! Just had me a Honey Crisp YUM! Need to make another trip up to our Apple area , Apple Hill...need more apple cider donuts!!

    This is so crazy! We went to a pumpkin patch this morning and they had some of those wart covered, bumpy pumpkins, too!

Have you ever heard of a Smash Book? If you are a scrapbooker or art journal person, you may have. If you are not one of those types, you may not have. I am a scrapbooker . . . but had no idea what a Smash Book was. That is, until my dear friend Peggy brought hers to our Scrapbook Cellar gathering last month. Any day now . . . Any day now . . . we will see you in all your glory, and the memory of past Springs will become our reality once again.  Any day now . . . I will walk passed you and be reminded of that scene in "Willie Wonka" . . . Gene Wilder as "Willie Wonka" image obtained from Google Image Search. Original site unknown. . . . when Gene Wilder drinks something (that I like to imagine is the sweetest, butteriest, most amazing thing) from a buttercup, and I'll wish just once I could do the same with you. Any day now . . . I will turn the corner of our block and find you waiting for me with your petals wide open, as if wanting to give me a Spring hug, and your scent will make me feel as if the heavens have opened up and sprinkled sweet smells over us all. Hot Off The Presses! A fanTAStic Weekend Treat!

Howdy Friends!!! Hope this post finds you all doing well! As part of my blog series "100 Things to Do with Grapes"  (STOP - wait a minute .... are you kidding me??? I don't have a blog series about grapes!!! Oh - but just imagine if I did!!!), I just had to share with you one of my very all time favorite summer treats . . .  Ok, are you even slightly interested? Hang in there with me, ok? Because this easy, summer "yum" is bound to be a favorite of YOURS!!!! That is . . . unless you have a peanut allergy.
